Gum Grafting
Gum grafting is a procedure used to treat gum recession and protect the roots of your teeth. When gums pull away from the teeth, it can lead to sensitivity, increased risk of decay, and changes in the appearance of your smile. During a gum graft, healthy tissue is carefully placed in the affected area to restore the gumline, protect the tooth, and improve both comfort and aesthetics. At Oak Park Dental Studio, our Periodontist Specialist, provides expert care to help restore your gum health and maintain a strong, beautiful smile.
What to Expect
Gum grafting is a routine procedure performed with local anesthesia to ensure you feel little to no discomfort. During the treatment, healthy gum tissue is carefully placed in areas where the gums have receded to help protect the tooth roots and restore the natural gumline. After the procedure, mild soreness or sensitivity is normal for a few days, but most patients recover quickly and return to normal activities shortly after treatment.
