Dental Exam and Cleaning
Regular dental cleanings and exams allows us to find and treat problems when they are small and manageable. Teeth are free, tooth decay and infection is expensive!
Routine cleanings prevent the buildup of bad bacteria in the mouth that can cause a number of dental problems like tooth decay, gum inflammation, periodontal disease and bone loss which can ultimately lead to tooth loss. Oak Park Dental Studio will evaluate your current gum and bone health and recommend the necessary treatment.
What to Expect
45 min – 1.5 hours
At Oak Park Dental Studio, we will start by discussing your full medical history and medications. We will go over any concerns and goals and then take a full complement of low radiation digital x-rays that allow the most comprehensive view of all the teeth and bone. We will then review your x-rays, provide an oral cancer screening and full examination of the teeth and gums. If a general cleaning is recommended this will be completed at the same appointment using hand instruments and an ultrasonic scaler to gently remove plaque and calculus around the teeth and gums. Oral hygiene instructions and problem spots will be discussed to ensure good at home care in between visits.
