What to Expect
Â
Treatment time varies case by case:

During your Invisalign consultation the doctor will talk with you about what you don’t like about your smile and what you would like to change. The doctor may also point out any issues associated with your bite or mal-alignment potentially causing trauma to the teeth. Any tooth decay or necessary cleanings will be identified using x-rays and will need to be completed before treatment can start. An estimated timeline will be discussed, and photos and impressions will be taken of the upper and lower teeth.Â
Â
These records will be sent to our partners at Invisalign. Invisalign will contact the doctor with the recommend treatment, once approved by the doctor the office will receive a ClinCheck. We will invite you back to the office to review this amazing 3D rendering of your treatment, showing how the teeth will move over the prescribed time frame. If approved, we will order your aligners!Â
Â
Your next visit will be to place small tooth-colored attachments or ‘buttons’ on the teeth. These act as anchors and help assist the aligners in tooth movement. We will try in the first set of trays and practice placement and removal. At-home care and maintenance, as well as oral hygiene will be discussed. Sometimes, minimal contouring of the teeth will be necessary to create space for movement.Â
Â
Our patients are sent home with 4-8 sets of aligners, instructed to change the aligner every week. Generally, we will see you once every two months to make sure treatment is moving along as desired.Â
Â
At the end of treatment some refinements will be expected and necessary, this ensures we achieve the best possible outcome. Once treatment is over, we will remove the tooth-colored buttons and take impressions for retainers to make sure our hard works stays put! Final photos will be taken.Â
Â
Compliance is key! As long as you wear your aligners 22 hours a day, your treatment will be successful.Â
